Round 3 is Angelina Holm’s Final Run at the Scripps National Spelling Bee

Angelina Holm, The Denver Post Colorado State Spelling Bee State Champion, did a great job at the National Bee but unfortunately did not earn enough points from her written test plus her two oral words to advance to today’s finals. We are proud of her efforts and dedication and she will always be the 2018 Denver Post Colorado State Champion! Angelina won as a 6th grader, so we have no doubt we will see this smart young lady again.

Sixteen of the 42 finalists were RSVBees which means they paid an entry fee to participate in the National Bee. This is the first year the Scripps National Spelling Bee has offered this option to spellers, who were either local school champs or past National Spelling Bee participants. Three are from Colorado. You can watch the Finals part 1 on ESPN2 today starting at 8:30 a.m. MST and then Finals part 2 which airs live on ESPN starting at 6:30 p.m. MST.
