The Denver Post Community Foundation Grant Application Information

For nonprofit organizations interested in a grant through The Denver Post Season To Share: 

The Denver Post Season To Share helps those less fortunate in our community improve their lives and become self-sufficient. Season To Share grants are made to qualified nonprofit organizations in Metro Denver that focus on the program specific guidelines of Children and Youth, Health and Wellness, Homelessness and Hunger. The 2025/26 Grant Application Process:   

If you are interested in a future Season To Share grant, please review the information on this page or visit seasontoshare.com to determine if you qualify.

Letters of Inquiry for the 2025/26 campaign will be accepted from May 15 – June 30, 2025 through our online portal. On May 15th, you will find a link on this page for you to submit your LOI through.

The LOI review process lasts through late September, when all email notifications are sent to eligible agencies with either an invitation to submit a full application, a letter of decline, information regarding year-of-rotation status, or any other important information for the organizations.

(Season To Share grantees from the past two years, will not need to submit an LOI unless you are asking for funding for a different program. If your organization was not selected to move forward in the process or received any other information last year, please feel free to submit an LOI to be eligible for consideration.)

The Denver Post Season To Share is a competitive and limited grant opportunity – full grant applications are by invitation only.

Application Requirements

Eligible organizations/programs will:

  • Meet the specific grant making criteria in one funding area- if more than one – select the best fit.
  • Have active 501(c)3 federal tax-exempt status (IRS letter dated within the last 5 years)
  • Demonstrate one full year of program services and financial reporting
  • Report strong measurable outcomes
  • Have clearly presented goals, objectives and strategies
  • Show sustainable and diversified funding streams
  • Demonstrate a solid, stable financial position
  • Serve vulnerable and low-income residents of the Denver metropolitan area (restricted to Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties)

Ineligible funding requests include:

  • Capital campaigns or endowments or other reserve funds
  • Public or private schools
  • Government agencies
  • Programs that do not fit funding guidelines or grant making strategies
  • Organizations that practice discrimination of any kind
  • Other foundations or nonprofits that distribute money to recipients of its own selection
  • Individuals
  • Religious organizations in support of religious programs
  • Research projects or programs
  • Influencing legislation or supporting candidates for political office
  • Start-up funding
